Reprimanded Politics

Reprimanded law
Inevitable death by the chain saw
Detriment of Politics that we all saw

The race of the elites
Spoils of war is the youths
Voters mishaps that led to twenty three

We remain appreciative of the good
The journey of destiny however remains on your feet
Crys of the crying in search for whom to lead

Nigeria the home of the poorest and World class elite
The most illiterate and holder of the world highest IQ
The dump yard of disease and best doctors to ever exist.

A paper on its own cannot form a book
Collectively in unity can we only achieve
The goal has shifted from becoming rich to having the simple freedom to just exist

Dehumanised humanity for the living
Slimmer than a niddle is our chances
Yet we war to put food on our slave masters dinning

The race for throne is creeping closely
Yet we remain obtuse to the fact of reality
Older they get with the same voice of familiarity

Reprimanded law of Politics
Inevitable death by the result we sought
Determinants of our politics should not be in blood

Political Scar

Politics of scars
We all bear the injuries to their lies
Falsehood of nobility, they won the nobel prize
Trips to London, they are always first in line

It’s been a sad journey from the dawn
My soul is depleting under the sun
The rays that should console are burning my lawn
Left to right it is fire burning from the ground

Politics of scars
We all bear the injuries to their lies
Falsehood of nobility, they won the nobel prize
Trips to London, they are always first in line

They say the lion’s heart will protect us when the storm comes
I guess we are doomed if the lions heart pilots the storm
It’s always raining under the sun but the tears does not fall from the sky
Soaked in the blood of the innocent, they enjoy their lives

We live through political scars
Chairs of responsibility are thrown outside the door
Our family tree is surviving on broken branches
While the roots are burning into ashes

We are growing apart, 60 years and counting
It puts me to tears watching my country die
Nigerians need a break, from all this political victimising
The political scars we bear continues to be horrifying

Too much silence is killing us from the inside
False news keep misinforming our conscience
To what crime have we committed to deserve such sentence
An overcrowded prison of mind for our nation’s citizens

Sight of belief, we live to only say goodbye
Rest in peace after peace–after peace, I wonder where is the peace
Prayer after prayers after prayers that the bloodshed should cease
Hopefully?! we blindly call on hope to get us off our knees

The Isle of Growth

We look far but the next step is right in front
They say keep your head high, I say keep your head straight
Focus and vision are of two different constraint
The road you walk should not be a road to talk but rather a road to the top

The foundation to your success has been done
Five weeks of training with a little bit of fun
The experience has been worth it since day one
The sacrifices you made to continue along
Is all part of the journey to keep you strong

Success is a name but growth is the aim
Do not point your trigger at something you cannot claim
For when the fire burns you might not survive the flame
Needless to say stay firm and acclaim your name, build yourself so strong that even your shadow has a good name

A Positive attitude will never let you down
Obstacles are bound to come along your journey
They say “believe to achieve” and then you conceive
There is nothing wrong with taking a step back in order to make a leap

Today is tomorrow and yesterday you were prepared
If I can I will, then I should be willing today
For a delay today can reverse my preparations of yesterday
Thus, who I am now shall always remain the best of me each and every day

We look far but the next step is right in front
They say keep your head high, I say keep your head straight
Focus and vision are of two different constraint
The road you walk should not be a road to talk but rather a road to the top

Hopeless Eyes

When hope is gone
The truth is lost
Innocence becomes victim to greed
At the end all we walk
Is the part to death

We call on hope
While using the wrong scope
We harm ourselves with our own antidote
We tell them not to hang us but we give them the ropes
What an irony of life, freedom bottled in a globe

I saw the pain in a child’s eye
A pain that could crumble all that is beneath the sky
A pain that would make a grown man cry
How could an infant be subjected to such a life
Where even death carries more peace than being alive

I see dark smokes in the near future
I fear we’ve lost the dreams of Martin Luther
I see red rivers flowing in the streets
The lack of peace could only break us to pieces
The pieces we have is being swept off its feet

If you think you are safe
Please do not be deceived
What you see might not be what it seem
I see cries in the hearts of the Youth
I fear for all, when they realise the truth

It is never too late to change
Be adviced not to provoke an outrage
What I saw in the eye of the child stroke my soul
I employ you to think of tomorrow
The joy you would derive from alleviating someone elses sorrow

A day lost cannot be found
A smile gone should not return with frawn
A life is to be lived not to be killed
A journey started today is planned yesterday
For a destination reached tomorrow shall not come forth with sorrow

Remember When

Remember when I said I love you

When I looked into your eyes after we cuddled

The morning I made breakfast before you left for office

You even uttered I make the best waffle

How could you forget, you had on a red shoe

I said to you, “that’s too much red boo…

Your flaming hotness matches with your shoe”

You replied “here you go with your silly jokes”

I know you remember, I came by to pick you from work

You made us stop by the store to get some groceries

I even mentioned a joke that made you blush

“Despite this vegetables being today fresh,

my girl looks fresher and she’s just off from work”

How could you forget, It was a friday so we had a movie night

I replaced your popcorns with the fake rubber ones

One thing led to another and it became a pillow fight

The next morning you woke up with a love bite

You woke up and caught me writing a poem for you

The poem states

When it comes to you

I would move mountains to see you smile

I would swim across the nile to hold your hands

I would wrestle an Anaconda to entertain you

I would I would, yes I would

I would love you until you tell me to stop

Then I would love you more even after my heart stops”

The Amendment

I am in a confused state
I am having mental lapses in my brain
Words of reasoning but I cannot reason straight
With age comes wisdom, I guess they have aged their wisdom

Arise o compatriots we sing
Arose are the compatriots with no compassion
They answer Nigeria’s call to steal
And serve with a selfish heart with no respite

You are to serve your fathers land
With a reminder that tomorrow you shall be buried in its sand
No matter your love, no matter your strength, no matter your faith
The labor you exercise today shall determine our tomorrow’s gain

Deserving we are, a nation of freedom
Yet all we are is death and poverty in abundance
Corruption is now our global badge of identity
I guess the only freedom we enjoy is the freedom to public fund looting

O God of creation
We keep asking for guidance of direction
Our leaders and youth the truth to know
We reject love and honesty while expecting to grow

Are we just living or living just
Visual truth that we made false
The only height we attain is piled on our country’s loss
It is obvious we do not want peace and justice, we are content with our prideful shame

Covid Riddle

I am Riddle

I was Born to distract you

A knowledge made to mis-track you

A foresight to miss guide you

Make you love me unconditionally

At the same time hate me wholeheartedly

I am fictitious so you cannot see me

Swift like the river on a quiet evening

Bright like the wind, if you envision me

Mighty and strong like the jungle that raised me

1,2,3 you cannot count me

I am a king and queen, you cannot stereotype me

Dead and alive so you cannot kill me

I was born and I became strong

I was forged as someone’s vision

I was born with that vision

I can fly, I can swim

I can climb, up and down like a stream

I can laugh, I can sing, a poetry I seem

I go black when it’s dark

I go bright when every where is light

In hindsight, I created to control your mind

My Purpose remains a mystery

My impact shall never be forgotten in history

My sins are not mine but yours to reveal

Riddle me and rid you of me

My name is Covid

Poeticverse

There is always an irony to life

The caterpillar needs to die to become a butterfly

It transforms from a snailly form of eww!

To a wingy form of Awww!

The Irony that remains

Is for the soul that never changed

For your limited life where do you stand ?

Karma has an irony that visits when you become sand

Search for your metaphor in poetic justice

Like a game of dice, it comes like your chances of double six

A satire in every win

Emotions but memory contains the heavy deeds

In this universe

Poetry I see in every little thought

One come and go but life never stops

Karma is a bitch and it’s never her fault

Today patience lacks attitude

Mockery has become a self fulfilling fortitude

An irony in every longitude and latitude

Am I running from every long attitude that outlast my attitude ?

Karma does not allow one to cheat life

Such an irony even death cannot cheat life

A short parody of life can be rolled in one dice

Unlike life, like the dice chances might come twice

I seek the poetry in this universe

I see the Irony that is this universe

Karma remains a bitch in every poetic parody

Thus, for the paradise in life, I claim my universe ‘The Poeticverse’

The golden Charmer

Knighted child in golden armor

Mattered not should ye be son to a farmer

A lawyer, doctor or even a Governor

The circle of life never existed in only one harbour

Yet this reality can be manipulated by a charmer

Knighted child in golden armor

Life seemed flexible from every angle in the mirror

Once away from the shadows of leisure

One would find the storm had never been heavier

Ye had only been sheltered under the family umbrella

A tradition of cosset

Shielded from all obstacles from birth

Ye’s Kindred meant no harm but good

Little did they forget the jungle is made of different woods

Some might be hard, and some soft

Ones Texture dictates the rationale behind his growth

A tradition of cosset

A facade to the feeble minded

A misplacement of value

Such tender a generation where trust weighs more than truth

A rooted foundation that warps our youth

Stories are told

Yet the truth remains to unfold

If the ultimate power is control

Then, a knighted child was only a means to a certain goal

How destructive a force yet attractive like gold

A knighted child in golden armor

Fell victim to the tradition of cosset

In plain sight is the absence of physical harm

While being ignorant to the notion of mental and emotional wants

To survive, the golden child needs to develop his personal charm

Forbidden Fruit

We sort each other from far

I knew I found love when I saw you from across the bar

You ignited my heart beat

I could not control myself, next thing I found me on my feet

walking towards you gradually as I think

nothing meaningful, your beauty was all is could see

“excuse me young lady, you mind I make an order for two?”

“Never mind.  Hey waiter, hit us up with what she is having X 2”

I looked into her eyes and all I saw was cute

a dazzling phenomena of beauty “I hope I am not trespassing”

“Forgive my boldness, If I may

I sighted you from far and I could not look away

I was hoping for a little chat and exchange of names”

“What might I call you before I fumble my game”

with a little smile, she looked at me and said

“I admire your boldness, You sure do have taste”

“I have been through this circle, and I am not about willing to make that mistake”

I felt the thunder rush through my veins

“I could preach to you how different I am, but I guess that could only add mayhem”

“Girl, you are such an astonishing beauty to the eye

This is something I cannot deny.”

“I am sure if God was human, He would have kept you for himself”

“You are such a dazzling figure to ignore”

“Give me a month or two, so we get to know each other”

“I am A’one by name.”

“You mind sliding me your phone so I could key down my number”

She smiled and said “my name is Eve, I will give you a text

Also I will hold you to your words, so please do not disappoint”

Her smile gave me goosebumps

Her beauty extends beyond poems.

she looked me in the eye like she wanted me to do something

then she stood up and said “You made me smile despite my bad mood”

“I hope to see you again sometime soon”

I quickly interjected “How about tomorrow late afternoon ?”

She exclaimed “Sounds like a plan”

she took few steps toward the exit and turned, “It was really nice to meet You A’One.”
