Out Cry

Take down the wall | Make it up to me
Do not let your pride stand between what we have built
Do not shy away from confessing your shortcomings
It’s simple, when you are wrong issue an apology
We build not destroy the branches of our family tree

Why end a caterpillar’s life because you fear butterfly
To what crime does the innocent deserve to die
No more political foolery, Unravel the myth to be free
Make way for me but first, make it up to me
Humble yourself and take a knee, Colin Kaepernick

Sixty-Two years and counting but I have nothing to show for it
Aside from banditry being my most lucrative industry
Corruption being my consistent and badge of identity
Lawlessness even laissez faire seem strict to me
Just discipline yourself and make it up to me

I can still forgive your shortcomings
Life is a book and we are all verses to it’s poetry
Every pencil has an eraser if you are willing to look for it
With a simple amendment we can make his story history
Don’t put your pride in the way just make it up to me

I do not care about my blood nor sweat I just want to be free
I was born in this land, why does it give me misery?
To think you could do me no more injury
Are you telling me the Vampires have taken over this country?
What happened to your magic, just make it up to me

What is there to fear just make it up to me
You have my mind chained and you hold the leash
I watched them kidnap and kill my brothers and you forced me to sheeh!
I kept my mouth closed while you eat off the leaves from our family tree
All I ask is for you to make it up to me, Capeesh!

Take down the wall | Make it up to me
Do not let your pride stand between national peace
Do not shy away from confessing your shortcomings
It’s simple, when you are wrong issue an apology
We build not destroy the branches of our family tree

Hopeless Eyes

When hope is gone
The truth is lost
Innocence becomes victim to greed
At the end all we walk
Is the part to death

We call on hope
While using the wrong scope
We harm ourselves with our own antidote
We tell them not to hang us but we give them the ropes
What an irony of life, freedom bottled in a globe

I saw the pain in a child’s eye
A pain that could crumble all that is beneath the sky
A pain that would make a grown man cry
How could an infant be subjected to such a life
Where even death carries more peace than being alive

I see dark smokes in the near future
I fear we’ve lost the dreams of Martin Luther
I see red rivers flowing in the streets
The lack of peace could only break us to pieces
The pieces we have is being swept off its feet

If you think you are safe
Please do not be deceived
What you see might not be what it seem
I see cries in the hearts of the Youth
I fear for all, when they realise the truth

It is never too late to change
Be adviced not to provoke an outrage
What I saw in the eye of the child stroke my soul
I employ you to think of tomorrow
The joy you would derive from alleviating someone elses sorrow

A day lost cannot be found
A smile gone should not return with frawn
A life is to be lived not to be killed
A journey started today is planned yesterday
For a destination reached tomorrow shall not come forth with sorrow

Remember When

Remember when I said I love you

When I looked into your eyes after we cuddled

The morning I made breakfast before you left for office

You even uttered I make the best waffle

How could you forget, you had on a red shoe

I said to you, “that’s too much red boo…

Your flaming hotness matches with your shoe”

You replied “here you go with your silly jokes”

I know you remember, I came by to pick you from work

You made us stop by the store to get some groceries

I even mentioned a joke that made you blush

“Despite this vegetables being today fresh,

my girl looks fresher and she’s just off from work”

How could you forget, It was a friday so we had a movie night

I replaced your popcorns with the fake rubber ones

One thing led to another and it became a pillow fight

The next morning you woke up with a love bite

You woke up and caught me writing a poem for you

The poem states

When it comes to you

I would move mountains to see you smile

I would swim across the nile to hold your hands

I would wrestle an Anaconda to entertain you

I would I would, yes I would

I would love you until you tell me to stop

Then I would love you more even after my heart stops”

Heroes Of Shimfida

I am not dead but I was sentenced to death

Nothing criminal my offences were taking care of threats

I swore to protect until my last breath

Only to be killed in the jungle and you don’t even care

I went through the same life troubles as you

I have a family and children I send to school

Being in the army does not mean I am slaving for you

It is the love for my country that led me to put on the boot

I left my family in the name of my nation

They cried in tears as I was sent off to a distant destination

It might seem to you I don’t cry because I was trained to control my emotions

This is only because I have to be strong for you to enjoy your freedom

It might not seem much to you that I do

All the sacrifices you think is not true

My colleagues that gave their lives in service for you

Oh! I understand, It is the money that only concerns you

Your allegations of military corruption is beyond my say

As a soldier, I am disciplined to remain at bay

Respect is key, as such my superiors I listen and obey

I am not saying I am a slave but I trust in what they say

When I fall in battle, they mourn me

It pains me to hear you don’t even have me in your memory

What do you think was my last thought as the bullet penetrates me

I might not be your family, but the uniform deserves you to celebrate me

Eighteen good soldiers

We ate together, trained together, and bleed together

We might have fallen in this battle but never shall we lose the war

We are soldier, dead or alive we fight for the freedom of all

We fight with our fallen comrades at heart

We shoulder you on our backs

And protect you from those trying to stab you in the back

That is no reason for you to turn your backs on us

This is no cry seeking for sympathy

As a fellow citizen I deserve your empathy

Only together shall we unit in restoring our dignity

In the names of the Heroes of Shimfida, we will achieve our victory

The golden Charmer

Knighted child in golden armor

Mattered not should ye be son to a farmer

A lawyer, doctor or even a Governor

The circle of life never existed in only one harbour

Yet this reality can be manipulated by a charmer

Knighted child in golden armor

Life seemed flexible from every angle in the mirror

Once away from the shadows of leisure

One would find the storm had never been heavier

Ye had only been sheltered under the family umbrella

A tradition of cosset

Shielded from all obstacles from birth

Ye’s Kindred meant no harm but good

Little did they forget the jungle is made of different woods

Some might be hard, and some soft

Ones Texture dictates the rationale behind his growth

A tradition of cosset

A facade to the feeble minded

A misplacement of value

Such tender a generation where trust weighs more than truth

A rooted foundation that warps our youth

Stories are told

Yet the truth remains to unfold

If the ultimate power is control

Then, a knighted child was only a means to a certain goal

How destructive a force yet attractive like gold

A knighted child in golden armor

Fell victim to the tradition of cosset

In plain sight is the absence of physical harm

While being ignorant to the notion of mental and emotional wants

To survive, the golden child needs to develop his personal charm

One More Miles

When the road seems dark

and the storm begins to hound at you

thunder after thunder that forced your eyes to rain a drop or two

when all hope is by the edge

the least of your pain is your head

when your life seems pointless

it becomes very easy for you to lose your focus

Everything becomes personal

A little banter and you feel insulted

the available ears doesn’t seem to listen

so you become reckless and your attitude careless

You ponder about death but it is not an option

You start to think to yourself why life isn’t fair

you somehow have the strength but the energy has disappeared

the storm gets heavier and no one seems to care

you start to hope for light from any angle

“You will get a different mind frame when you have been through the jungle”

Your stress turns into depression

A little misunderstanding turns into aggression

you begin to lose all hopes on salvation

now your daily routine is just going through the motion

where every second of the day you are in your emotions

You should not count what you have lost

For counting will not alter your past

The future is unknown

A reality that awaits to be foretold

Shall Ye keep Ye head high, Ye has one more mile to go

With patience comes perseverance

but to begin with, your situation needs your wholehearted acceptance

if whatever pain is temporary

it is only right you strive relentless for your happiness

because this is your journey, and you have one more mile to go

Forbidden Fruit

We sort each other from far

I knew I found love when I saw you from across the bar

You ignited my heart beat

I could not control myself, next thing I found me on my feet

walking towards you gradually as I think

nothing meaningful, your beauty was all is could see

“excuse me young lady, you mind I make an order for two?”

“Never mind.  Hey waiter, hit us up with what she is having X 2”

I looked into her eyes and all I saw was cute

a dazzling phenomena of beauty “I hope I am not trespassing”

“Forgive my boldness, If I may

I sighted you from far and I could not look away

I was hoping for a little chat and exchange of names”

“What might I call you before I fumble my game”

with a little smile, she looked at me and said

“I admire your boldness, You sure do have taste”

“I have been through this circle, and I am not about willing to make that mistake”

I felt the thunder rush through my veins

“I could preach to you how different I am, but I guess that could only add mayhem”

“Girl, you are such an astonishing beauty to the eye

This is something I cannot deny.”

“I am sure if God was human, He would have kept you for himself”

“You are such a dazzling figure to ignore”

“Give me a month or two, so we get to know each other”

“I am A’one by name.”

“You mind sliding me your phone so I could key down my number”

She smiled and said “my name is Eve, I will give you a text

Also I will hold you to your words, so please do not disappoint”

Her smile gave me goosebumps

Her beauty extends beyond poems.

she looked me in the eye like she wanted me to do something

then she stood up and said “You made me smile despite my bad mood”

“I hope to see you again sometime soon”

I quickly interjected “How about tomorrow late afternoon ?”

She exclaimed “Sounds like a plan”

she took few steps toward the exit and turned, “It was really nice to meet You A’One.”

Reverie

I came alive at a dinner table

I had Food for Thought

I was feed till my brain coughed

Intellects to my right and left

Heaven on earth knowledge at spread

A buzz session that buzzed my mind

I found my brain in a virtual gym

Shedding off ignorant muscles

And replacing them with a patriotic hope

In a jungle filled with predators

And aliens that try to exploit us

A round table was enough

Enough to rid our minds of arrogance

Enough to facilitate our road map

Enough to spark a revolution for a lifetime

We might find ourselves at odds ideologically

However, it is said “he that knows, is he who knows he doesn’t know”

If he knows not, why keep knowing ?

We might find ourselves at odds physically

However, it is said “I can, I will”

If you can, why only stop at willing ?

A Force

I am a force that comes with force,
that is sent by A Force
I am a force, so do not force me

You do not know me but you feel me
You do not always want me but you need me
You might hate yet you might like me

How I come about remains a mystery
Those you claim to be smart, says false about me
You give me names yet no one asked me of mine

I am always around but no one asks about me
I am sometimes gentle and calm
my presence provides you with peace of mind

I can be a hurricane
I can come as a tornado
Yet, you need me to spark a romantic night

I am peaceful until you harm me
You cannot deny the Climate Change
However ignorant you remain, I shall always remind you

You need me to survive
Yet you destroy my means to survive
“For every action there is an opposite and equal reaction”

I see you ridicule those fighting for me
Yes, I am strong and mighty
but between us, only you could die

I can protect myself
I could kill every living thing in a blink of an eye
but then, You need to be alive to learn your lessons

I am a force that comes with force
That is sent by A Force
I am a force so do not force me

A Gift

I am a gift to man

A blessing in one

I am only Human

I have been through the sorrows

and Still optimistic about tomorrow

As I row the boats to the future

Unity says peace

A gift we all decree

A gift of divinity

I am a gift to man

A blessing given to all

Another smile of joy

I am a gift to man

A blessing in one

I am only Human
